oct 18th wish you were here
October 18th--wish you were here.
The albie fishing was off the hook today breezy northwest winds made them go crazy. We witness one of the best blitzes outside Beaufort Inlet in years. Sarah and her crew caught between 25 and 30 albies. Besides fish outside the inlet fish were along the beaches in shallow. We hammered some nice albies in 2 foot of water. Water temp are in the the 60s now. Looks like the it might be an old time season--back in the day the best of the fishing was the last two weeks of October. We shall see. sadly --Next week look nicer for weather.

I didn't notice it myselt til John's buddy pointed it out to me, but take a look at the back of the 'core on the left of the frame as it chases bait towards the beach!!! The thing looks wide enough to stand on and it can't be in a foot or so of water!!! AWESOME STUFF!!! Good Fishing!!!

Re: oct 18th wish you were here
Seeing the bait get busted, and the sea gulls going nuts is half of the fun.... there was much more action going on that I couldn't capture on camera (as always)... some of these fish were eating off of the sand, including one that Natural Fly hooked from the suds (literally). Once it realized their was no where else to go, it ripped by us heading offshore at MACH 1... NF's line was making a rooster tail as it sliced through the water... cool stuff. Brian, Normally a tough decision...Camera/Rod????? But we put a couple in the boat before I grabbed the camera this trip...I needed some pullage BADLY! Ready for more!
