 Re: Fly Swap 2010??
ToddK''s are first arrivals. Great work. Sounds like more are on the way. I've gotta tie just a couple more and I'm done - something to do on a snowy saturday. Don't know anything about a no clouser rule. (I think there oughtta be a no chartreuse and white clouser rule.) If there is a no clouser rule -let me know quick, I got a dozen purty ones to keep, and will tie something else. LW - Don't know why you can't tie the same pattern assomeone else. It will be a different tie in some way, so still variety. Last year we did surface flies, and There were a couple of gruglers, but they were diffent sizes and colors - great to have all of em.

 Re: Fly Swap 2010??
Blue Heron, Since most swaps clearly state no "No Clousers", it has essentially become accepted as an unwritten rule unless the Swap Meister states otherwise. Regardless of experience, most tiers participate in swaps to expand their tying portfolio by recieving flies that use different materials, techniques, and styles . Clousers aren't exciting , everyone knows how to tie them. Only the material and color changes in the construction of most Clousers. The one, almossssst notable exception is the Hi-Tie Clouser (This fly doesn't have belly material tied in below the hook shank) Bottomline: In my opinion, as the organizer for this swap, you can pretty much tie what you want .

 Re: Fly Swap 2010??
No problem I like the challenge. plus it taught me how to tie a different fly, been quite an educational experience in saltwater flies. seems like lots of variations of the similar patterns. From some of the research I have done the shrink wrap thing is pretty popular. thanks for the support though.

 Re: Fly Swap 2010??
I realy like the idea of a swap being done towards a certain type of fish. Like this one is albies. Other then that rules can take the fun out of it for novice tiers. Just my 2 cents.
