Harkers 2014 WOW!
This was my 13th. trip to grave yard of ten weights and the fabulous tuny melt. Me and my compadre bunked in with the Virginia Coastal Fly Anglers at location X. This year was special as I rode shot gun all the way from Sarasota, FL with a 32' Contender in the rear view mirror. The tow was two days but Harkers didn't disappoint. Our "party barge" was a very stable platform in the worst of weather, tho we did take one 1/2 day off due to old knees & various stability handicaps that prevented eatable presentations. Here are some of the photos that make for lasting memories of 2014. This trip I finally found the buffaloes, one after another, a personal best. A special thanks to Jake Jordan and Chuck for the Plan B dinner.

Awesome!!!
And I thought my Regulator was a fish out of water in the world of Albie chasing.
I bet we used a bit more gas than some guys huh?

800 miles, towing a 32' Contender to catch albies on fly! I love it. That's AWESOME, glad you boys had a good trip.

How often were gas stops needed? Every 30 minutes on the way up?
What are you towing her with?

His Prius ----- just kidding Walt!
Glad y'all had a good trip. The season had ups and downs due to weather, but when NOAA did their part the fish did theirs.
I'd put the year over all as just a smidgen above average unless something unusual happens after this cold front (water temps off Shack were 64 today). Drum fishing was either frustrating or just off the charts, and the cold temps won't impact that as much as the albies, plus, the trout fishing that is already grand, may well be off the charts good.
Good Fishing!!!

Ford Expedition, yep: over loaded. We took took turns buying gas. Towing the barge was way cheaper that flying, rent a car, hire a guide AND a hell of a sight better than standing on the spit watching the boats work over the fish. Bin dere don dat way too many times.
