Looks like the primary difference between the black and silver editions is the Silver has a touch screen and cost $100 less. The black no touch screen but shoots higher frame rates (especially 120 at 1080P and in 4K).

There is also a new basic GoPro for those who want a basic camera without bells and whistles. Costs $129 new. It is called simply the "Hero" version.

I just want one where the battery will last as long as the memory card... I have an extended battery pack and even with that have to be very judicious in what I film to make it through a day of fishing. If I change batteries on the boat I have problems with the lens fogging.
