Cape Cod Trip
Made it to the cape yesterday afternoon. Checked in to our hotel unloaded and thru rods in the boat and headed out Hyannis Harbor. Tide was almost to high. Got out to our fishing location where the rip goes around the point hooked in to a nice blue and bit me off. Next we were into 20 to 26" stripers. Got to fish for about three hours things slowed and the wind picked up. Headed in for a good meal and meet up with one of the other fisherman from Erie.
Today 20 to 30 winds no place to boat fish. Four more fisherman coming in soon after they get here heading to inlet near the hotel, fish the falling tide.
Wind looks better tomorrow.

Sunday Everyone arrived today and was a much better day of fishing. Winds dropped down and fish were around. Largest striper was 38" caught off my boat. Caught a lot of black bass and robin fish also. Largest black bass 6lbs. Never really ran into that many black bass. Everyone heading over to the Cape Cod bay side today wind from the south.

Re: Cape Cod Trip
a BSB of 6 lbs is a major fish. Nice job. 38" stripah is great. What did they eat ?
Re: Cape Cod Trip
Monday and Tuesday we spent out in Cape Cod Bay. Fish on Brewster flat huge schools of 30 plus fish but they will not eat. Ran out to Billingsgate Sholls found fish that would eat. Sand eels everywhere. Best on falling tide. Wind picked up this afternoon and fish quit bitting so called it a day. The shore anglers had an alright day near Barnstable Harbor. Looks like, might get some wet weather the next two day but if the wind holds out will be fishin.

Wed, Headed out at 7 major fog couple hundred feet vision. After 7 miles in it got to Billingsgate shoals. Almost ran over two Basking Sharks on the way out. Both were bigger than the boat. Got on the shoals birds everywhere and fish on bait. Said till around 11 when got a call from a friend that lives out here that he was half way back to the launch and ran out of gas. So we headed in found him and towed him in. Headed back out to Brewster Flats found the big school of none eating fish again. Saw birds working just off the flat got into schoolie fish to finish out the day.

Don't see too many Basking Sharks on Lake Erie, do ya ?

Re: Cape Cod Trip
Thats for sure John. Yesterday magor rain day. Shore fisherman caught a few but boat stayed on trailer. Did some site seeing. Up early today headed back to Billingsgate shoals. Only a few fish and west wind packed it up around 11. Went over to Lewis bay better wind and much better fishing. Largest fish was caught by me 40" 22lbs. My best. Tide slacked out fish went down headed for ramp at 3. Back at motel everyone starting to pack up for trip back to Erie in the morning. Get our last sea food for this trip and look forward to next year.
