After 42 years
...of fly fishing, I can finally cross this one off my bucket list, not once but twice. A 29" golden bonefish that took me all the way to a never seen 5 wt. backing, and a 27" that didn't go quite as far. Both on a 2" brown rabbit strip crayfish pattern. Both were mudding in a backwater of an old city lake north of Lexington NC -- got to site fish for both, and both took it up on the second strip. This could get addicting

this is the fly in all Brown, without the dumbbell eyes at the top of the hook. I'll be trying the Clouser crayfish tomorrow (also without dumbbell eyes) in the same situation < 2' of water.... light drop / spooky fish situation...
