end of July report
sound side is still dead and hopefully will improve next year. Sarah and i are winding up our last 32 days in Nags Head. We head south around Sept. 1 or at least move one boat down.
Ocean fishing has been not too bad---plenty of sharpies around eating bait and flies. Few mahi around as well and cobia are starting to show up again. There has been a good showing of the buffalo albies this week. They have bee scattered out eating small bait--awesome to see them jumping chasing bait. One of my anglers hooked one today on a squid --almost spooled us before the line parted
There is more bait in the ocean than i can remember this time of the year.

Brian,
Nice report ... love to hear about the biggy Albies~
Figured you would be seeing those Cobes ... bay season is winding down now.
Saw just 3 fish yesterday sight fishing the lower bay.
Enjoy the last part of the summer season ...
see you all around the hook !
