Wire tippet for Shark
I'm heading to Harker for a couple weeks in mid October mainly for the Albies, but I'm bringing along my TFO Bluewater rod with a 500 grain sinking line to try for some Amberjacks. Figure this outfit would work for a shark? We have often seen sharks in on the baitballs with the Albies and other fish and I'd like to give them a try. Never rigged for shark before.
What do you use for the wire tippet, how long should it be, and what knots do you use?
Anything else I should know?
Thanks
Willi

Re: Wire tippet for Shark
have not a ton of success on the sharks in bait balls but have caught them better chumming.
i use single strand 43 pound test wire --use haywire twist of barrel twist to attach fly. i use a small swivel on the end that goes to the tippet. Rio makes some tie able wire that works well use at least 30 pound 40 pound better.
