Raising the Bar (a lot) in DSLR Video
Panasonic has released the GH4 which is a video-oriented no mirror cam. All new sensor designed to crank out large amounts of data. It is way beyond the other SLRs in video (unless you hack a Cannon and shoot raw to an external recorder). It can crank out 1080P at 200 Mbps (many pro cameras shoot 25 Mbps TV stations like 50 Mbps for broadcast). It will shoot 1080p at 96 frames per sec (no audio) (the article is incorrect when it says 120) which will be great for slow mo fish jumping. Of course it will shoot 4K 4096×2160 which give a nice crop factor. Suggested price is $1500. Buy an adapter and use your Nikon or Cannon glass. It is splash proof as well! This is a serious cam to consider if you want to get into high-end video at a "consumer" price. The specs on this camera beat many pro cameras that cost $5,000 to $20,000.
But, needs new memory cards that cost a little more than your high-end SD cards.
